Start Teaching English in Spain in Just 4 Weeks

Spain is one of the most popular countries in Europe to start teaching English. There’s consistent demand for teachers, the lifestyle is social and relaxed, and many new teachers find they can live well and enjoy their surroundings while building valuable classroom experience.

You can teach in San Sebastián itself, a city with a strong sense of local identity and a pace of life that’s easy to settle into. It’s home to a growing number of English teachers and expats, with plenty of cafés, green spaces, and places to unwind between classes.

There are also teaching opportunities in other cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Valencia, or you may choose to explore freelance or online teaching after the course.

The CELTA course* runs full-time for four weeks in San Sebastián. You’ll finish with a CELTA certificate, hands-on classroom experience, and the confidence to step into your first teaching role in Spain or beyond.

After the course, many graduates stay in Spain to look for work in private language schools, where hiring often takes place in person. Being in the country puts you in a strong position – you’ll be able to meet schools face-to-face and respond quickly to job openings.

There’s also growing demand for online English teaching, which some graduates pursue either as a main income or to supplement part-time roles.
