School of TEFL is a trading name of Eslbase, a partnership based in the United Kingdom. Where this Disclaimer says “we”, “our” or “us”, it means that partnership. “You” means anyone using this website, accessible at https://www.schooloftefl.org.
This Disclaimer forms part of our Terms of Use and should be read alongside them.
Information, not advice
School of TEFL publishes guidance for people deciding where and how to train and teach. We publish it so that you can make a better informed decision. We cannot make the decision for you, and nothing here replaces checking your own position.
We are not immigration advisers, lawyers, accountants or financial advisers, and we are not regulated to give advice in those fields. Nothing on School of TEFL is immigration, legal, tax or financial advice, and reading the site or corresponding with us does not create an adviser and client relationship.
Visa requirements, work permit procedures, salary levels, living costs and exchange rates vary according to your nationality, age, qualifications and personal circumstances, and according to what local authorities and employers require. They also change without notice. Confirming your own eligibility to enter, remain in and work in any country is your responsibility. Before committing money or travel, check the current position with the relevant official authorities, with any prospective employer, and where appropriate with a qualified professional in the country concerned.
We cannot promise that any job, visa or placement will follow from anything you read here.
Accuracy and currency of content
We research our content carefully and review it periodically, in line with our Editorial Guidelines. Errors can still occur, and content reflects our understanding at the date of publication or last review, and may go out of date between reviews. Where a page carries a date, that date shows when it was last reviewed.
Salaries, living costs, rents, tax rates and exchange rates are indicative estimates drawn from published sources at a point in time. They are not offers, guarantees or forecasts, and actual amounts vary by location, employer, timing and individual circumstances. Currency movements and inflation can make them out of date quickly.
Where content describes laws, regulations, visa categories or official procedures, it sets out our general understanding of those rules, not their application to your circumstances.
If you believe something on the Website is inaccurate or out of date, please tell us at hello@schooloftefl.org and we will review it. Where we find a material error we correct it, and where the correction is significant we say that we have made it.
Availability and use of the Website
The free content on this Website is provided as it stands, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. This does not apply to courses or other services you pay for, which are covered by the Enrolment Agreement and by your statutory rights.
School of TEFL may contain views and opinions that are those of the authors, and that do not necessarily reflect the position of any other author, agency, organisation, employer or company.
We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted or free of errors, that defects will be corrected, or that the Website and its servers are free of viruses. We are not responsible for losses caused by delays or failures at our service providers, or where access to the Website is blocked or restricted in a particular country.
Third party websites
School of TEFL includes links to sites run by others. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content or availability of a linked site.
Our commercial interests
We provide TEFL courses, and this Website promotes them. In-person courses are taught by partner centres in the countries where they run. Online courses are provided by us directly. We are paid when you enrol through School of TEFL.
Eslbase, run by the same partnership, separately introduces some teachers to schools and other employers, and is paid a commission by the employer when a teacher is hired. Taking a School of TEFL course is not a condition of any such introduction and does not give you priority in one. We never charge a teacher a fee for finding them work, or for trying to.
Where we refer to our own courses, whether here or on Eslbase, we identify them as ours. Further detail is set out in our Editorial Guidelines.
Our liability
The limits on our liability to you are set out in our Terms of Use, and this Disclaimer does not add to or change them.
Nothing in our terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for any breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot lawfully be excluded, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
If you have booked a course with us, our obligations to you are set out in the Enrolment Agreement.
